July 30, 2009 – Key West, Florida

We had a later than usual start this morning because we stayed up last night to watch two live stage shows after dinner. It was great. I didn’t want to say anything at the time, but my Papa was laughing so loud that other people were looking at us.

After breakfast I took a short ride on a jetski. It was just a pretend one, but I was making ‘vroom vroom’ sounds for it anyhow. Then we got off the boat and visited the very lovely city of Key West, the southernmost point of Florida. The streets were lined with cottage-like shops, and white picket fences that looked like gingerbread homes. Ernest Hemmingway lived here my Mama tells me.

Had another fight with my Ma and Pa. I don’t know why they keep forcing me to walk on my own. My Lolos and Lolas love to carry me, so I really don’t get why Ma and Pa cant just be the same. I need to be with Mama all the time. When Papa takes me away from her, I cry and scream, because I know this makes him give me back!

We tried key lime pie ice cream - a favourite in Key West, and then did a little bit of shopping… one of our own favourites!

Tonight will be our last night so we’ll be watching a farewell show named Boogie Wonderland, full of Lolo Robert’s favourite songs. I love dancing.

July 29, 2009 – CocoCay, Bahamas

Started the day early again and we were some of the very first to get off the boat after breakfast to visit the lovely island of CocoCay. Ma and Pa relaxed on a hammock while I played with sand and sticks. It was a very colourful place with lots of people doing different watersports like kayaking and parasailing.

Once we got back on the boat I went to a Fisher-Price play session with all the toys to my heart’s content. Had a fight with Mama again because I preferred to play with a lady’s ballpen instead, and Ma kept insisting that the pen was not mine. I was not happy.

Macaroni and cheese for lunch, and now having my afternoon siesta….zzzzzzz.

July 28, 2009 – Nassau, Bahamas

I started the day with a healthy breakfast of corn flakes and strawberry yoghurt. I ate so much that I fell asleep straight after. When I woke up it was noon, so time to eat again! Lasagne, mash potato, mushrooms, and potato gems were just some of the things I tried at the buffet. Oh and this time I had red jelly for my dessert.

Then we visited the island of Nassau. I really like to dance to their music, and got so tired that I didn’t have the energy to walk back to the boat. That’s when I had a fight with my Ma and Pa again. I refused to walk on my own and they refused to carry me. I was so upset.

I went to a crayola class in the afternoon and made a butterfly and a flag. I’m very proud of my work, but got blue ink all over my hands and face. Need to get cleaned up fast, because tonight is ‘formal night’ so everyone is going to be all dressed up!

(We didn’t actually make it to ‘formal night’ as it turns out. We went back to our room to have a short siesta at 4pm, but didn’t wake up for dinner and managed to sleep through the whole night!)

July 27, 2009 – Going to Miami!

Woke up very early to take a shuttle from Orlando to Miami. It took five hours! Am so lucky to have a human mattress everywhere I go so I can catch up on more sleep.

Boarding the big boat to take us to the Bahamas! Had a feast at their open buffet. Love penne pasta with cheesy chorizo sauce, fried chicken and orange jelly. Dropped by the top deck for a bit of open air dancing, before hitting the sack early. What a day!

July 26, 2009 – Kennedy Space Centre

Today I met an astronaut! We visited Kennedy Space Centre and learned all about NASA and going to space. I gave some instructions on the phone from the command centre, walked into a space shuttle, and spent some time at their playground too!

We had Fuddruckers for dinner where a waiter made me a balloon flower, before going back to the hotel and packing for our next stop. Cant wait to come back to Orlando in a couple of weeks for Disneyworld!

July 25, 2009 – Shopping!

We woke up very early and watched the sun rise over Disneyworld. I’m really liking this IPhone that Papa got for me. Lots of Wiggles to watch and keep me busy from getting into trouble.

We visited Orlando Premium Outlets for some shopping today to pick up a few things, but ended up buying a few things more than we thought. Bose headphones and Nine West shoes were the prizes I got Papa and Mama for letting me come on this trip with them.

I zipped around in a big red car for about an hour until I got bored of it and decided that being carried by Mama was my preferred mode of transport.

Got into big trouble with Papa today. I didn’t want to walk on my own because I was tired and it was so hot, but because I kept saying ‘neh neh neh’, my Pap freaked out! We didn’t talk to each other for a couple of hours, but made up eventually over kisses and cuddles.

July 24, 2009 – Going to Orlando!

Today we leave for our holiday! One whole month of non-stop fun with Mama and Papa. We were taken to the airport by Lolo Robert and had my very first sip of Mama’s mocha frappucino before taking off for our long flight.

I was pretty good on the airplane actually… even if I say so myself. I spent time with lots of friends that shared their stickers and playdoh with me, and when I was tired, Mama was my human mattress. I slept heaps!

Papa was very hungry by the time we got to our hotel late that night so we ordered pizza! Being on holidays is fun!
