August 6, 2009 – Georgetown, Grand Cayman

Papa says that we will have a secret bank account in the Cayman Islands one day, but until then I will remember it by how pretty this city is. I have never seen the sea such a bright turquoise colour and the houses are all so charming, whether they be large and brand new, or small and old.

A friendly taxi driver took us on a short tour to discover some areas off the beaten track and we learned all about how the locals live and how they were affected by hurricane Ivan from a few years ago. We even took a photo of some tree branches that were totally stripped of its leaves by the hurricane and the new trees that have grown around it since.

When we returned to the boat we freshened up and got ready for ‘formal night’. We got dressed in our nice outfits and had lobster for dinner – two servings even!

Afterwards was my favourite part of the day. We watched a musical named ‘Once Upon A Time’ where I learned all about Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Pinocchio. So now that I’ve had all my bedtime stories, I’m off to sleep!
