August 8, 2009 – At sea

We stayed on the ship for the entire day as we made our return journey back to Port Canaveral, so we spent the day doing a great big lap of honour as our final hoorah. We bloated up on the food, took a dip in the water, danced til we dropped, and watched more of the live shows.

One highlight of my day was going on a behind-the-scenes tour in the main theatre where we had a chance to ask the singers, dancers and stage technicians all about their craft. I know a little bit about performing myself, so took the opportunity to sneak in a short impromptu stint on stage once everyone else cleared the auditorium.

Swimming with Papa was also so much fun, but I really do dislike it when water pours over my eyes. Nonetheless, I enjoyed being all suited up in my surf life saving costume to minimise any tan lines.

We bid all of our cruise friends farewell during the parade in the Promenade, while conspiring with Mama to surprise Pa with a Leica camera he had been eyeing the whole trip. What an operation! Papa is with us practically all the time so it was so hard to sneak our surprise past him, but before we went to bed we tucked it under his pillow for him to discover. My Disney budget has taken a bit of a dip, but Papa was very happy!
